As a senior energy-climate expert at RCEE-NIRAS, Dr. Nam Hoai Nguyen has focused on integrated energy planning and energy-economic-climate models. He is also research fellow at the Center for Energy and Green Growth Research where he involved in development programs promoting sustainable development and climate change mitigations. Dr. Nam is a certified measurement and verification professional from the Association of Energy Engineers. Dr. Nam is studying on contribution on emission reductions from energy sector which is essential for national and regional climate mitigation agenda and actions. This would create scientific evidences for realization of Nationally Determined Contributions targets for Vietnam in close relation with National Green Growth Strategy and Sustainable Development. Nam was US Department of State International Visitor Leadership Program on: Energy Security and Utilities Management in 2014 and ASEAN-U.S. S&T Fellow 2019/2020. Dr. Nam received his B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering (2006) from the Hanoi University of Science and Technology in Vietnam, and his M.Sc. (2011) from the School of Earth and Environmental Sciences at The University of Queensland in Australia. Nam received his Ph.D. in development economics from the National Academy of Politics in Vietnam (2018).
